HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANIRBAN: My 21st Birthday

Category: By ANIRBAN CHATTERJIE

My mobile clock shows 12.01 AM and no call yet to wish me, but that clock is faster than the original time, just like me doing things ahead of my time.

Main aur meri ghari aksar baatein karte hain agar tum na hote...

The real time is 11.57PM, 3 minutes left. And the phone rings; Durba, clever enough to occupy the remaining 3 minutes so that no one else calls before her. New style of Durba’s: ‘Happy birthday’ (keep saying sweetly at a interval of 4-5 seconds)!

Ma, Lopez next, followed by messages from Avirup, Dev, Souvik, Ashis.

Avirup calls next asking to call him back because he is short on balance. What a unique way, my birthday and I have to call back to get wishes! The hostel gang: Avirup, Sourav, Gandhi, Corporate (I forgot what his real name is!), Kakima, Niluda, ending with Munna.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes.

Still waiting for few of my very close connections without whom I wouldn’t be complete: Sis, Ron, Pechu, Rinki, Rohit, Abul, Tommy to name a few of those wonderful people…

The midnight count is less (except the regulars who are there and I believe will be there always to wish on this day) as compared to last year. But that’s the way I wanted it and that’s why I altered my birth date in my profile page of a social networking site!

Treat everyone as if every day is their birthday, with the same amount of kindness and sweetness and love. Doesn’t happen in real, I know. But that’s the way I want it to be for me and everybody.

I complete 21 years of my subsistence today. Feels like 31 and Im still learning. Thanks everyone.

My 21st birthday pledge: Kick out duplicity, be a better a human being and chewing of paan and betel nut is injurious to your health so discontinue.

It’s almost 1 am, put on some remixes to keep me awake till I finish my office assignment. Let’s get back to work Anirban.

Thank you once again, until next year, good night everyone.

Thanks for your wishes by SMS: Dada & Boudi (Rinki's), Bikash, Mehebub, Sis, Atanu, Roshni and Dida
Some mistake my birthday to be on the 28th (try saying 20th and then 28th) and call up on that day to wish!! Double whammy!!

I am taking back my Love...

By ANIRBAN CHATTERJIE
Go ahead just leave, can't hold you, you're free
You take all these things, if they mean so much to you
I gave you your dreams, 'cause you meant the world
So did I deserve to be left here hurt?

You think I don't know you're out of control
I ended up finding all of this from my boys
Girl, you're stone cold, you say it ain't so
You already know I'm not attached to material

I'd give it all up but I'm takin' back my love
I'm takin' back my love, I'm takin' back my love
I've given you too much but I'm takin' back my love
I'm takin' back my love, my love, my love, my love
My love

Yeah, what did I do but give love to you?
I'm just confused as I stand here and look at you
From head to feet, all that's not me
Go 'head, keep the keys, that's not what I need from you

You think that you know
(I do)
You've made yourself cold
(Oh yeah)
How could you believe them over me, I'm your girl

You're out of control
How could you let go?
Don't you know I'm not attached to material?

I'd give it all up but I'm takin' back my love
I'm takin' back my love, I'm takin' back my love
I've given you too much but I'm takin' back my love
I'm takin' back my love, my love, my love, my love

So all this love I give you, take it away
You think material's the reason I came

If I had nothing would you want me to stay
You keep your money, take it all away

I'd give it all up but I'm takin' back my love
I'm takin' back my love, I'm takin' back my love
I've given you too much but I'm takin' back my love
I'm takin' back my love,

Hey folks I have come across this awareness ad about AIDS.
The tagline is catchy.
I visited their website and they asked me to spread the word in my blog.

MONTHLY REPORT : JANUARY

By ANIRBAN CHATTERJIE
Had a very busy January.

Worked on tight schedules, worked on Sundays, worked with beads of perspiration on my head with my Boss sitting next to me. All building up to the AIOC 2010 – Annual Conference of Ophthalmologists in India. Even Foreign delegates visit. Met few big names of the country. Amongst which Dr.Ramammurthy is the name to note. My initial apprehensiveness about him vanished since we met.

"They come from outside to the venue and have a natural tendency of thinking the host to be at par with servants. Before you get irate with me for stating this, let me narrate: I was at the counter, a person came upto me and asked me if he could charge his laptop. I politely told him that there wasn’t any plug point empty here but I also offered him to search for one and when I did find one, he asked me: “Laga dijiye na!” I think my mistake was offering to help. One may defend saying what’s the problem if he asked me to put the charger for him (not a great deal after all). I too shall quip back: Arey bhaiya its really not a great deal, but why couldn’t he do such a simple task by himself. Its all in the mind I say.

A foreign delegate (most probably from the States) was casually sitting on the floor and working on his laptop while our very own desi people was busy keeping their suits spick and span even till the end of the day. "

Had 5 pates of Biriyani in a span of 4 days.

Durba’s birthday was on the 22nd. Had a small cake cutting party, gifted her Cookie.
We are both of the same age now, but only till my birthday arrives!
