My mobile clock shows 12.01 AM and no call yet to wish me, but that clock is faster than the original time, just like me doing things ahead of my time.

The real time is 11.57PM, 3 minutes left. And the phone rings; Durba, clever enough to occupy the remaining 3 minutes so that no one else calls before her. New style of Durba’s: ‘Happy birthday’ (keep saying sweetly at a interval of 4-5 seconds)!

Ma, Lopez next, followed by messages from Avirup, Dev, Souvik, Ashis.

Avirup calls next asking to call him back because he is short on balance. What a unique way, my birthday and I have to call back to get wishes! The hostel gang: Avirup, Sourav, Gandhi, Corporate (I forgot what his real name is!), Kakima, Niluda, ending with Munna.

Still waiting for few of my very close connections without whom I wouldn’t be complete: Sis, Ron, Pechu, Rinki, Rohit, Abul, Tommy to name a few of those wonderful people…

The midnight count is less (except the regulars who are there and I believe will be there always to wish on this day) as compared to last year. But that’s the way I wanted it and that’s why I altered my birth date in my profile page of a social networking site!

Treat everyone as if every day is their birthday, with the same amount of kindness and sweetness and love. Doesn’t happen in real, I know. But that’s the way I want it to be for me and everybody.

I complete 21 years of my subsistence today. Feels like 31 and Im still learning. Thanks everyone.
